Background
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a Ph.D. in psychology, (Stockholm University) and I provide therapy in Swedish or English (English is my native language). I have previously worked within primary care in Sweden as a psycholgist for parenting and childrens' health care services (Föräldra- och barn hälsovård), as a generalist psychologist (premiärvårdsnivå) for adults, which assesses and treats mild/moderate psychological concerns and as an organizational and leadership developer. I currently only offer therapy to private clients online and booking is done through the online booking system. Send me an email if you would like more information: aliciaohlsson@ohlssonwellbeing.com.
Areas of speciality:
I have a particular interest in the connection between mental and physical health and how they influence one another. I am currently undergoing education to be a specialist psychologist in the areas of psychological treatment/psychotherapy and clinical health psychology (STP psychologist/Swedish psychologist association). I have a strong interest in prevention measures and behaviors promoting psychological well-being.
In addition, I hold a PhD in Psychology from Stockholm University (2020). Over the past 15 years, I have conducted research in various areas of work and organizational psychology and continue to be active in the field. My research has focused on different forms of stress (acute, cumulative, and moral/ethical stress), personality (Big Five), performance, and leadership. These areas of expertise shape the perspective I bring to both therapeutic work and the educational and training services I provide.
Therapy
Together with the patient, I strive to create an understanding of how thoughts, feelings and behaviors are connected and influence each other for the patient to gain understanding regarding their own behavior patterns and how this effects their wellbeing. I'm experienced with assessing and treating psychological problems of various kinds, but I'm a little extra passionate about issues related to worry and anxiety, life balance issues, stress and exhaustion, and parental support. I think it is important to create a consensus together with my patients about the problem at hand and to find the form of treatment that is most suitable and supported by research. In addition to CBT, I have in-depth skills in other forms of treatment such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and couples therapy. I often take an integrative approach depending on the needs of the client and the therapy goals.

Parental support
Parenting is an important behavior that sets the stable foundation for childrens' development through all developmental stages of their childhood and adolescence. I provide parental support for parents looking to reflect and improve upon their parenting skills or to understand their child's behavior and needs better.

Coaching sessions
Sometimes we have life goals that we want to achieve and obstacles that pop up along the way. I support individuals to set clear goals and create everyday habits/structure that can contribute to achieving their important life goals. I apply cognitive behavioral coaching (CBC) as a method to work with specific development goals with wellbeing as a central focus.
